5-Ways You Are Killing Your Success

I am going to be real with you guys here today. These are the 5 most common things I see average people do to literally kill their hopes, dreams, progress and overall success in life.

You need to STOP doing these 5 things today so you can START making success mandatory in your life.

#1 YOU ARE STUCK IN THE PAST – your past is not your potential, but often times many people keep living life in the rearview. It’s vital to forgive yourself for previous mistakes we are all human and we all mess up, some of us more than others (including myself).

Mistakes are for learning, instead of dwelling on things we can’t change use them as “real life” education, I think of my blunders in life of which there are many as simply learning on the job. For me all my greatest successes are from my biggest and most dramatic failures. A truly great life is full of mistakes, issues and problems, because those are things that change us, help us not only learn but also grown into the most badass version of ourselves.

#2 YOU ARE TRYING TO COMPETE WITH THE WORLD – your life is a one horse race and the only person you are running against is YOU.

You can’t worry about the guy or girl next door; you can only compete with yourself measuring the old you vs. the new one. If you are the standard by which all is measured and you are continually learning, progressing, and growing you are well on your way to true success.

#3 – YOU ARE NOT LIVING THE LIFE YOU WANT – in a nutshell you are living life based on what other people think or say about you. You can’t live your life worried about the expectations of others; your decisions in this life should NEVER revolve around impressing someone else.

Do you remember your own goals, your own hopes, and your own dreams? Often times as we become adults we forget them and start down a path living a life we never intended to. When you look in the mirror at the end of your life will you be able to say I LIVED the LIFE that I wanted to live, for me, on my terms, and the decisions I made where mine to make me happy?

#4 – YOU DECIDED WHO YOU WERE WHEN YOU WERE 15 yrs OLD – “YOUR STORY” I meet so many adults who tell me things like “I am not an athlete” “I am not artistic” “I am not outgoing” “I can never do this” “I am not good at that”…… my question to you is….. when did you decide that was your reality? When you were 10, 15, 18, 22 years old?

My point; often times we tell ourselves a story at a very young age and we repeat this story over, and over, and over again so much it becomes our reality “OUR STORY”.

The story you told yourself at 15 can be re-told, re-written, and re-lived starting today at any age. YOU have the power to tell yourself and LIVE any story you want, stop living inside the imaginary prison you placed yourself in so many years ago.

#5 YOU WANT IT TO BE EASY – If you want to do anything of value in this life, or make even the smallest dent on the world you need to focus on doing what is right, NOT what is easy. Hard is the road less traveled, easy street doesn’t lead to anything great.

My best example would be to research the 5 most successful people you know, ask them about their journey from start to now…see how “EASY” it was for them, I think you will find the HARD WAY is ultimately the way to everything you ever wanted.

Take these 5 Tips, go out, and make success mandatory today.

The world is waiting for you to show it exactly what you can do…I will be waiting.

Stay happy, stay positive, stay motivated and continue to make your Future greater than your Past.
